    WORK OUR WAY

  • A key feature with iCentech is our intensive (and extensive) use of technology in the services we provide. Our devout belief in technology roots in our craze for ever-higher efficiency and zero intolerance for errors introduced by manual work. We are technology-driven, but we also drive technology to work our way.

    TRANSLATION MEMORY

Translation Memory (T.M.) is a database that stores previous translation units. When running a new file against an existing T.M., matches of different categories are found, including complete matches (100%), fuzzy matches (75%-99%), and new text. Translation Memory technology provides the means to ensure consistency with previous translations and within the same document, and to cut down both turnaround time and costs.

At iCentech we use T.M. with all clients and projects. Wordcount analysis logs are sent to clients for their record; memories are updated regularly. As T.M. is intellectual property that belongs to the client, we are ready to send them the complete and up-to-date memory at any time they request.

Translation Memory / translation / localization tools, or CAT tools (computer-aided translation), automate extraction of the text to be translated from formatted source files. This enables translation, editing, and proofreading to be handled without having to work around formatting issues. Added benefits are the ability to automatically identify and re-use repetitious material, glossaries, and any segments that have been previously captured using a CAT tool, without regard for the source format. Then, when the translation is complete and verified, the CAT tool automatically replaces the original source segments in the formatted file with translated segments. In addition to the linguistic advantages, this process also speeds up the cycle and helps prevent cut/paste errors.

Linguists, project managers, engineers at iCentech are all efficient users of CAT tools, such as

    • SDL Trados
    • Idiom WorldServer
    • Star Transit
    • Atril Deja Vu
    • Champollion Wordfast
    • Passolo
    • Alchemy Catalyst
    • Lionbridge ForeignDesk

    DTP SOFTWARE

We understand how to use these software applications together with Translation Memory tools. The S-Tagger tool that comes with SDL Trados enables us to extract translatable content from FrameMaker files for translation,iCentech's DTP team consists of DTP specialists and DTP QA staff who are experienced users of almost all DTP software tools available in the market, including

    • InDesign
    • FrameMaker
    • PageMaker
    • QuarkXPress
    • Interleaf
    • Illustrator
    • CorelDRAW
    • Photoshop

We understand how to use these software applications together with Translation Memory tools. The S-Tagger tool that comes with SDL Trados enables us to extract translatable content from FrameMaker files for translation, which can be incorporated back into the artwork files when translation is complete. The filter technology for InDesign can be used for exporting text from artwork and importing back for typesetting once it has been translated.

    JOB SYSTEM

iCentech has developed its own project management system, a web-based platform on which all project-related processes, data, and tasks are centralized and managed in a unified view.

TransPortal, as the system is dubbed, also offers an easy yet efficient way for the client to manage their multilingual projects, providing a single point for submitting jobs, uploading/downloading files, monitoring job status, and generating reports. It streamlines the project management workflow, allows the client to their manage multiple projects without increasing their staff and costs, and saves them both time and cost.

    QA TOOLS

We are fully aware that our service is far from complete if quality assurance is not integrated in the process or carried out properly. Our project managers, engineers, and linguists are equipped with quality assurance tools to help them identify issues/defects with products before they are shipped to client. These tools include commercial ones such as

    • QA Distiller
    • GlobalConvert
    • BeyondCompare
    • ErrorSpy
    • UltraEdit

We have also built our own localization toolkit, containing such tools as

    • Terminology Consistency Checker
    • XML/HTML Tag Checker
    • Number/Date Format Checker
    • UI String Length Checker

    AUTOMATION

Different stages within the translation/localization workflow may involve repetitive manual input. By automating these stages you can gain significant time savings by reducing both manual error and the delay between each stage in the process.

Parts of the process that can be automated are:

    • Translation Memory analysis
    • File protection and processing
    • Allocation to approved linguists and reviewers

Each individual client workflow is analysed by our project management team and specialist consultants, who will advise where significant time savings can be made.

    AI

AI is revolutionizing translation and localization processes, enhancing efficiency. By leveraging AI technologies such as machine translation, natural language processing, neural networks, and LLM, we can automate repetitive tasks, improve translation quality, and expedite project timelines. AI-powered tools assist linguists in terminology management, content analysis, and quality assurance, leading to more consistent and precise translations. Additionally, AI facilitates scalability, enabling us to handle large volumes of content efficiently. Embracing AI in translation empowers us to deliver faster, more reliable, and cost-effective language solutions tailored to our clients' needs.
